What you see
Three KPIs — Gross Profit, Revenue, and Margin (gross profit as a share of revenue) — then two lists:
- By Category — revenue, profit, margin, and units for each category, ranked by revenue.
- Top Products — the highest gross-profit items, with units sold and margin.
Only completed and closed orders count, and voided lines are excluded. Cost comes from the cost recorded on each sold line, so margin is only as good as the cost prices in your catalog.
Items with no cost look infinitely profitable
A product with no cost price reports 100% margin. Fill in costs — or receive
stock through purchase orders so cost is captured automatically — before
making pricing decisions from this report.
A product that belongs to several categories is counted once, under a single category, so category rows still add up to the totals.
