Product Overview
The Products screen is your store catalog. Physical items and services (haircuts, repairs, and other timed offerings) live in the same list — there is no separate Services menu.

Unified catalog. Products and services are both catalog items. A service is a product with This is a service turned on. Filter the list with All / Product / Service. See Service Overview for duration fields and how to create a service from Products.
What is a Product?
A product is any sellable catalog item that is not marked as a service — food, drinks, retail goods, and similar.
Examples: Latte, Sandwich, T-shirt, Headphones.
Key Benefits
- One catalog — Products and services in one place.
- Categories — Group items for the register and menus.
- Modifiers — Sizes, toppings, and other add-ons.
- Pricing — Base price, cost, and optional special prices.
- Media — Photos for staff and customers. Upload from your gallery or take a photo directly (phones and tablets).
- Barcode / SKU — Scan at the register when you use hardware or camera scanning.
Form Structure
When you create or edit a product, the form is organized into tabs:
- General — Enable, availability, name, SKU, barcode, This is a service, type, categories, description.
- Attribute — Weight (products) or duration (when This is a service is on).
- Inventory — Stock tracking (see Callout below).
- Media — Product images.
- Modifiers — Attach modifier groups.
- Pricing — Base price, cost, special pricing.
- Tax — Tax class and tax rule (plan-gated — see Callout).
Inventory tab. For sellable products (not services), the Inventory tab is always available — turn on Manage Inventory, set quantity and a low-stock level, and sales deduct stock automatically. You do not need the Inventory Management add-on for that. The add-on unlocks the Inventory drawer module (multi-location levels, transfers, purchase orders, suppliers, counts). See Inventory Overview.
Tax. Attaching tax rules to items requires Tax on your plan (Starter+ / free trial — not the free BASIC demo tier). On BASIC, tax fields may be unavailable or inactive even if older tax rows exist.

SKU vs. Barcode
- SKU — Your internal code for organizing the catalog.
- Barcode — The scannable value on packaging (or a label you print). Use it with the register scanner or POS drawer Scan.
Best Practices
- Use clear names and images.
- Put items in categories cashiers recognize.
- Prefer modifiers over duplicate products for size/topping variants.
- Set a barcode if you scan at checkout.
- For timed offerings, use This is a service instead of inventing a separate catalog.
