Label & Sticker Printing

Add-on required. This feature requires the Advanced Printing add-on to be active on your store. View add-ons

Regular receipt printing (receipts, kitchen tickets, bar slips, queue tickets) is
included in every plan and prints on continuous paper rolls. Label and sticker
printing is different
— it prints on die-cut labels (pre-cut, fixed-size
stickers on a backing sheet) using a dedicated label printer. That capability is
part of the Advanced Printing add-on.

What you get with the add-on

  • A die-cut label printer option on the printer form — pick a command
    language, a label size, and see a live preview before you print.
  • Product barcode labels — a "Print barcode label" button on any product that
    has a barcode. The printed barcode scans straight back into the register.
  • Order-item stickers — a small sticker per item when an order is being
    prepared (great for coffee cups, take-away bags, and prep stations).
  • Bag tags — numbered "Bag 1 of N" stickers for laundry and packaged orders.

Receipts, kitchen tickets, bar slips, queue tickets, and the laundry claim stub
do not need this add-on. Only die-cut labels, stickers, product barcodes,
and bag tags are part of Advanced Printing.

Supported label printers

A label printer speaks a command language. Pick the one that matches your
hardware — this is the most common thing people get wrong.

The Command language must match the physical printer. A Zebra printer set to
TSPL, or a TSC printer set to ZPL, will feed a blank label or nothing at all.
If unsure, check the sticker on the printer or its box.

Media types — which roll is in the printer

Media type tells Fuze Store what's physically loaded. Getting this wrong is
the second most common setup mistake after command language.

The difference between the two label types is where each label ends. Die-cut
stock has physical label boundaries the printer detects; a continuous label roll
has none, so length comes from the content and the printer cuts or tears at the
end.

Choosing TSPL or ZPL sets Media type to Die-cut labels for you. On
ESC/POS — a cheap sticker printer — set it yourself.

Settings that come with each

Die-cut and continuous label rolls each expose the handling options that make
sense for them:

  • Label sensing — how the printer finds each label's top edge. Gap for
    standard liner labels; Black mark for stock with pre-printed registration
    marks. A continuous roll has neither, so it uses continuous sensing.
  • After each labelCut, Tear, or None (feed). Most relevant on
    a continuous roll, where nothing else decides where one label stops.
  • Orientation — print upright or rotated 180°, for printers that feed the
    other way round.

Wrong media type wastes a roll

Set to die-cut with a continuous roll loaded and the printer hunts for gaps
that don't exist — usually feeding blank labels until it gives up. Set to
continuous with die-cut stock and printing drifts across the label boundaries.
Check the roll before you save.

Supported label sizes

Pick from standard presets — 2×1, 3×2, 4×6 (TSPL/ZPL only), address, Dymo
sizes, round 1" / 1.5" / 2", jewelry — or set a Custom size in
millimetres with a rectangle, rounded, or circle shape. The size picker only
shows the sizes your chosen command language can actually print, and a live
preview shows the true shape and proportions. Retail barcodes print sharpest at
300 dpi.

Set up a label printer

Enable printing

Go to Preferences → Order and turn on printing if it isn't already on.

Add the printer

Go to Configurations → Printers → New Printer. Give it a name and pick the
connection (Bluetooth, Network, USB, or Serial).

Choose the label settings

Under Label Printing, set the Command language to match your printer.
Choosing TSPL or ZPL switches Media to Die-cut label
automatically; on ESC/POS (a cheap sticker printer) set Media to
Die-cut label yourself. Then pick a Label size (or Custom). Check the
live preview, then save.

Route order stickers (optional)

On the printer's Print Routing Rules, add an assignment with the Label
role so order-item stickers print automatically. Leave it off if you only want
to print product barcodes on demand.

Use Test print on the printer's detail screen to send a small test label
before your first real print — it confirms the size, command language, and
connection are all correct.

Give the product a barcode

Open a product, enter a Barcode (or tap Generate Code), and save.

Print the label

A Print barcode label button appears at the bottom of the product form.
Tap it to open the print dialog, then choose the label type (see Label
presets below), the label printer (if you have more than one), the
label size, and how many copies — a live preview shows the sticker
before you print.

Scan it back

The printed barcode scans straight into the POS register and adds the product
to the cart — no manual lookup.

Label presets

Every label prints from a preset — a ready-made layout that fills itself in
from your data (product name, price, SKU, barcode, dates, and more). Presets are
business-neutral, so the same set works for a coffee shop, a hardware store,
a pharmacy, a repair shop, or a laundry. You pick a preset in the print dialog's
Label type menu; a live preview shows the result before you print.

The menu only lists presets that make sense for what you're printing — it filters
by your store's business type, your printer's command language, and
whether the item actually has the fields a preset needs. Examples of built-in

Presets are read-only — pick one and print. To lay out your own label, use the
label designer below.

Designing your own label

Presets cover the common cases, but you can also draw a label yourself under
Configurations → Label templates. The designer is a canvas: drop in text,
barcodes, QR codes, boxes and lines, position them on a preview of your actual
label stock, and save it as a reusable template.

Text and code blocks can carry variables{{name}}, {{price}},
{{barcode}}, {{orderNumber}} and so on — which are filled in at print time
from the product or order you're printing. The variable chips offered depend on
where the template is used:

  • Product templates — catalog fields (name, price, SKU, barcode, category).
  • Order templates — order and customer fields, per-item fields, and batch
    fields like {{sequence}} for "Bag 1 of 3".

Once saved, your templates appear under My templates above the built-in
presets in every print dialog, and you can mark one as the one-tap default
for products or for orders.

Test on your own printer before a busy shift

The designer renders your layout as an image and sends it to the printer, so
the result depends on your specific model. Use Test print on the template
before you rely on it — especially for barcodes, which need to actually scan.
If a code prints too small to scan, use larger stock or a 300 dpi printer.

How labels reach the printer

  • Bluetooth label printers print directly from your phone.
  • USB, Network, and Serial label printers print through the Fuze Store Hub
    desktop app on a computer in your store — the same Hub that handles receipts.
  • Web printing (from a browser) always goes through the Hub.

Industrial Zebra / TSC printers are most reliable over USB or Network via the
Fuze Store Hub
. Bluetooth label printing depends on the specific printer, so
test yours before relying on it during service.
