Connecting a Bluetooth Printer
Bluetooth is the simplest way to print and the only one that needs no extra hardware or software. A Bluetooth printer pairs directly with the phone or tablet running Fuze Store — it does not go through the Fuze Store Hub. This makes it ideal for mobile POS, food trucks, market stalls, and single-printer stores.
Bluetooth printers work on the mobile app (iOS and Android) only — not in a web browser. For web-browser printing, or for USB/Serial printers, use the Fuze Store Hub instead.
You need the Manage Printer permission (or be the store owner) to add or edit printers.
Before you start
- Power the printer on and make sure it has paper.
- Have the printer's manual nearby — you may need its MAC address (often on the self-test page).
- Turn Bluetooth on for your phone or tablet, and grant Bluetooth permission to the Fuze Store app.
Pair the printer
Because the printer talks to the tablet directly, there's nothing to install — just pair and add it in the app.
Power on the printer and put it in pairing mode (check the printer's manual — usually a long press of the feed button).
On your POS device, open Configurations → Printers and tap Add Printer.
Give the printer a clear name like "Front Counter" or "Kitchen". This is what staff will see in routing rules.
Select Bluetooth as the connection type.
Enter the printer's MAC address (printed on the self-test page or in the manual). It looks like AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF.
Choose your paper width: 58mm or 80mm. The wrong width gives clipped or half-empty receipts.
Tap Save, then open the printer's detail page and tap Test Print to confirm the connection.
Most ESC/POS thermal printers from Epson, Xprinter, MUNBYN, Goojprt, and generic 58mm/80mm Bluetooth brands work out of the box. If your printer prints garbled text, see Troubleshooting.
Good to know
- One tablet at a time. A Bluetooth printer pairs with a single device — only the paired tablet can print to it. If you need several tablets to share one printer, use a Network (TCP/IP) or USB printer through the Fuze Store Hub instead.
- No Hub needed. The Fuze Store Hub does not need to be installed or running for Bluetooth printing.
- Queue retries differ. A failed Bluetooth print can't be retried automatically from the print queue (the print runs on the device, not through the Hub). If one fails, use Reprint from the order's detail page. See Print Queue & Status.
- Peso glyph. Many low-cost Bluetooth printers can't render the
₱symbol, so receipts show the currency code once in the header instead. See Receipt & Ticket Design.
Troubleshooting
If your printer doesn't appear when you scan, or you see a "Bluetooth permission required" message, see the Bluetooth sections of the Troubleshooting guide.
