Claim Stubs and Bag Tags

Shops that take the goods first and the money later, such as laundry, dry cleaning and repairs, have nothing to receipt at drop-off. The customer needs a claim stub: proof of what they left and how to get it back. Claim stubs currently switch on for stores created from the Laundry business type.

What happens next

• The claim stub goes out first and the receipt follows when the order is paid and completed.

Edge cases

• What the stub shows. Your store name, address and phone, the order number and a scannable QR, the customer and phone, what was dropped off, Ready by taken from the order note, and the total. If a deposit was taken, Amount Paid and Balance Due. Agree a house format for the ready-by note, such as Fri 3pm.
• Claim stub versus receipt. The stub prints at drop-off and says what you hold and what it costs. It is not an official receipt. The receipt prints at pickup and says what was paid.
• Claim tags. When your store uses claim tags, you tap the order's tags into the cart before you save, and the stub prints at once with their numbers. A stub printed again from the order's Print menu lists the tags still out.
• Reprinting. The stub is in the order's print options until the order is finished, and after that the receipt matters. A bag tag can be reprinted any time, for a tag lost in the wash.
• Printers. Both print on an ordinary 58 or 80 mm receipt printer, with no label printer or add-on. Bag tags on adhesive die-cut labels use Advanced Printing.
• Laundry shops see Print Claim until the order is completed or closed, and do not see kitchen, bar or queue tickets.
• Other drop-off trades such as repair and tailoring use a normal receipt for now.
• Print one of each before going live, checking the QR scans and the ready-by line reads as you want.
