Service Overview

A service is a catalog item with duration instead of (or in addition to) product weight and stock. Examples: haircut, massage, car wash, repair job.

Services are not a separate menu. They live in Products with This is a service enabled.

Form Structure

Same product form tabs, with service-specific Attribute fields:

  • General — Include This is a service.
  • AttributeDuration and Duration Period (for example, 60 · Minute).
  • Media, Modifiers, Pricing, Tax — Same idea as products.

Tax on items requires Starter+ (or free trial) — not the free BASIC demo tier. See Product Overview.

What this is not

  • Not a full appointment calendar or staff roster inside Products — those flows belong to Events / Staff features when your plan and add-ons include them.
  • Not the Events Event services configuration under Events (bookable templates). This guide is only the sellable catalog line with a duration.

Best Practices

  • Name services clearly (for example, “Women’s Haircut — 45 min”).
  • Put them in categories cashiers recognize.
  • Use modifiers for add-ons (extra time, products used).
  • Filter the Products list by Service when you only want to review services.
