How to Create a New Area
Areas organize your store into sections. After you create one, you can put units in it.
Before you start
- A paid plan (Starter or up). Basic has no areas.
- The Areas · Modify permission.
- Start with the zones you use daily, then add more within your plan's limit.
Steps

Open Areas
Open Configurations. Under Operations, tap Areas.

Tap New Area
Tap New Area. The button shows only to people who may change areas.

Fill in the area
Enter a Name, such as Al Fresco, VIP, or Washing Area. A Description is optional. Under Units, you can put existing units in this area right away. Only units that are in no area yet are offered.

Save
Tap Save. The area appears in the list and is ready for units.
What happens next
- The register splits its unit grid by area, so the new area shows as its own group.
- A floor plan, if you use the Floor Plan add-on, is drawn for one area.
- Other devices are told only on plans with live sync.
Edge cases
- Plan limit. Starter 3, Lite 10, Standard 25, Premium no limit, Free Trial 5. Basic has none. At the limit, saving is refused.
- After a downgrade, if you have more areas than the new plan allows, the list shows only as many as the plan allows.
- Importing areas ignores the limit. A spreadsheet import creates every row without checking the plan. The extra areas then drop out of the list, which shows only as many as the plan allows.
- No units yet? Tap New Unit under the Units field. When you save the unit you come back here, and the new unit, which is in no area yet, can be picked.
- A unit already in another area is not offered here. Move it from the unit's own page.
