Claim Store Overview

Claim Store is the in-person way to hand a store to a new owner. You start a handover in the Fuze Store app, show the customer a QR code to scan, they sign up and claim in the browser, and you approve on your device. When you approve, the store moves to them and leaves your account.
Use this when you are standing with the customer — sales demos, field onboarding, or transferring a store you set up for someone else. Both of you finish the handoff in one sitting.
Claim Store vs Transfer Ownership
| Claim Store | Transfer Ownership | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | In-person demos and onboarding | Remote handoff by email |
| Customer | Scans a QR in the browser; can create an account on the spot | Accepts an email invite; typically already on your team |
| You approve | On your device (banner or Approve card) after they claim | After they accept the email invite |
| Where to start | Configurations → Claim Store | Configurations → Transfer Ownership |
Claim Store does not use the scan links printed on receipts or queue tickets. Those open order or queue status for staff and customers — a different flow.

Who does what
You (store owner)
- Open Configurations → Claim Store.
- Tap Start handover and show the customer the QR code.
- Wait while the customer signs up, verifies email, and taps Claim Store.
- Tap Approve handover (or Decline) when they are ready.
The customer
- Scans the QR with a phone or laptop camera, which opens the claim page in the browser.
- Signs up or signs in, and verifies email if needed.
- Reviews the store preview and taps Claim Store.
- Waits on Waiting for approval until you approve.
Only the current store owner can start or approve a Claim Store handover. Staff cannot.
When Claim Store is blocked
You cannot start a handover if:
- The store is linked to an organization — unlink it first, then try again.
- An email ownership transfer is already pending for the store — cancel that transfer first, then start Claim Store.
Owner only
Claim Store appears under Configurations → Advanced. You must be signed in as the store owner.
What happens after approval
When you approve:
- The customer becomes the new owner of the store.
- The store leaves your app (including the selected-store list).
- You are removed from that store’s staff — this is a full handover, not a demotion to staff.
If you decline, the customer sees that the claim was declined and you stay the owner. You can start a new handover later if needed.
