Starting a Claim Store Handover
Start the handover from your device, share the code with the customer, and wait for them to claim. Only the store owner can do this.
Open Claim Store
- Open Configurations.
- Under Advanced, tap Claim Store.
- Tap Start handover.
Fuze shows a QR code for this handover.
The QR is shown once
There is no copyable link — the customer scans the QR off your screen. Stay on this screen until they have scanned it: if you navigate away or reload, the code is gone and you will need to generate a new one.
Share the QR
Ask the customer to scan the QR code with their phone camera. It opens the claim page in a normal browser — they do not need the Fuze Store app installed yet.
What the customer does
On the claim page, the customer:
- Signs up or signs in (and verifies email if the account is new).
- Reviews a short preview of the store.
- Taps Claim Store.
They then see Waiting for approval until you approve or decline on your device. See Approving the handover.
Tips while the code is live
- One live handover at a time — starting a new one replaces any handover already in progress, so the old QR stops working. Don't start a second one while a customer is mid-claim.
- If you left the screen and lost the QR, tap Generate a new code.
- Stay nearby until they finish signup and tap Claim Store — email verification can take a minute.
Customer stuck on verify email?
After they verify, the success page can offer a way back to finish claiming the store. Have them scan the QR again if they lose their place — it stays valid for the 20-minute window.
If Start handover fails
You may see an error instead of a QR if:
- The store is linked to an organization — unlink first.
- An email ownership transfer is already pending — cancel it under Transfer Ownership first.
