Adding Printers on the Hub

Almost any ESC/POS thermal printer works: Epson TM, Star TSP, Xprinter, Rongta and most 58 or 80 mm receipt printers. Once a printer is on the Hub, every paired POS device can use it.
Before you start
- The Hub running and a device paired.
- A printer ready.
Steps

Plug in the printer or put it on the network
USB: connect it to the Hub computer and turn it on. Network: connect it to your router by Ethernet or Wi-Fi and note its IP address.

Open Printers and Discover
In the Hub click Printers, then Discover at the top right. It scans your USB ports and local network.

Register it
Click Register and name it, such as Receipt - Counter or Kitchen - Hot Line.

Test print
Click Test print next to it. A test receipt should come out within a second or two.

What happens next
- Assign which documents print on it from the app. See Routing Rules. Changes sync to the Hub at once.
Edge cases
- Windows. Discover finding a USB printer is enough. You do not need to add it in Printers & scanners. Connecting it in the app uses the same Hub USB open, so Test Connection on the phone fails until this Hub Test print works. Needs Hub 1.0.0 or newer. If it is already in Printers & scanners, the Hub prints through that queue, so name it in Fuze exactly as Windows does.
- Mac. Do not add a USB printer in System Settings → Printers & Scanners. If it is there, remove it. The Hub refuses to print to a USB printer macOS also has set up, and Test print says so.
- Linux. The first Test print usually fails with "Linux is not letting Fuze Store Hub use this printer". Put the line it gives in
/etc/udev/rules.d/70-fuze-store-hub.rules, reload udev and replug the printer. - Printers saved in the app appear on the Hub by themselves. The Hub checks the store's printers about every 30 seconds, so it also gets them after a restart or after it was off. Switching one off or deleting it in the app removes it from the Hub.
- Printers added on the Hub's own page stay until you remove them there. A printer saved in the app comes back after you remove it on the Hub, so remove it in the app.
- Bluetooth printers pair straight to the tablet, not the Hub. Each tablet pairs on its own and only that tablet prints to it.
- Network printer not found? Use Add manually with its IP address.
