Working Offline

Applies toEvery plan, including free BasicUsually owner

The Hub is built for shops with unreliable internet. Only the first sign-in needs a connection. After that it works from a cached session, so a dropped line does not stop printing or the kitchen screen.

Before you start

  • The Hub signed in once.

Steps

1

Keep selling

Printing, the kitchen display and the customer display keep working over your local network.

2

Read the indicator

The Hub shows "Offline · last verified n ago". It is informational and clears when the connection returns.

If it asks you to reconnect

On Reconnect to verify your session, get the computer back online and choose Retry connection. You lose no settings, printers or pairings.

If it asks you to sign in again

On Sign in again to continue, the internet is fine and your sign-in needs renewing. Confirm it is you and the Hub carries on.

What happens next

  • When the connection returns the Hub syncs queued kitchen tickets up to the cloud by itself.

Edge cases

  • What pauses. Anything that must reach the cloud: syncing tickets up, pulling catalog changes and re-verifying who you are.
  • The grace period. The Hub works without internet for 30 days by default, then a 7-day buffer before it insists. A Hub offline more than 37 days stops and asks.
  • Two different things. Your sign-in is renewed each time the Hub reaches Fuze Store, and that renewal works for up to 14 days. After about two weeks offline, everything local still works, but the first cloud job (setting up, switching store, resetting) asks you to sign in again.
  • Which screen is which. Reconnect to verify your session: fix the internet, then press Retry. Sign in again to continue: enter your details. Retrying will not help the second, and signing in will not help the first.
  • This blocks administration, not sales. It stops a Hub being managed by someone whose access was revoked weeks ago.
  • Any internet will do. A phone hotspot for a minute re-verifies and resets the grace window.
  • If your shop is often offline, bring the Hub online deliberately every few weeks.
