Switching Store and Resetting

Applies toEvery plan, including free BasicUsually owner

Both live under Settings → Danger zone and cannot be undone. Neither touches your cloud data. Orders, products, customers and reports are safe. What is at stake is what lives on this computer.

Before you start

  • An export of the support bundle, if you may need the history.

Steps

1

Export a support bundle first

In the Danger zone use Export support bundle. It holds recent logs and the full audit trail, which both actions wipe.

Set up again

After a switch you stay signed in and every staff device pairs again. After a reset you sign in, pick a store and pair again, as in First-Time Setup.

What happens next

  • The Hub is bound to the new store, or restarted fresh.

Edge cases

  • Switching wipes the local audit log and unpairs every paired phone, but keeps you signed in. If your account manages only one store, there is nothing to switch to.
  • Each store has its own certificate. After switching, browsers on this computer show Not Secure until you install the new store's. The previous one is kept, so switching back needs nothing.
  • Reset always clears the Hub settings and store link, paired browsers, and your sign-in and the device token. Only if you tick Also delete this store's local data it also clears the audit log, kitchen tickets, print queue, logs and TLS keypair for the bound store. Other stores on the same computer are untouched.
  • Which one. Moving to another branch or the wrong store: Switch store. Tangled settings: Reset with the box unticked. Retiring the computer: Reset with the box ticked. Just a different sign-in: neither, sign out from the user menu. Printing broken: neither, see Print Jobs.
  • Reset is rarely the answer to a hardware problem.
