Switching Staff
On a shared register, Switch Staff lets one person hand off to the next without anyone logging out of the account. The PIN is the authorization, so any signed-in staff member can open the switch and pass the till along.
Switch to a new operator
Open Switch Staff
In the POS side menu, choose Switch Staff. The operator roster appears.
Pick the person
Select the staff member who is taking over.
Enter their PIN
The new operator enters their PIN. They become the active operator on this terminal.
Switching opens a session for the new operator and automatically closes the previous operator's session on that terminal. Orders created from then on are attributed to the active operator's session.
Hand over a shift
When you finish a shift, you can hand it over from Active Sessions.
Open Active Sessions
Find your active session in the Active Sessions list.
Hand over
Choose to hand over. Add an optional note and declare your cash. This closes your session.
Managers can view Active Sessions and force-close a session if needed -- for example, if a cashier left without handing over.
After a reload
On a paired terminal, reloading the app restores the active operator for that device (the person who was signed in last). On an unpaired device, the app falls back to the signed-in account user — open Switch Staff and sign in with a PIN when you need a different operator.
