Creating an Event

Applies toStarter plan and upNeeds Bookings · Modify; Bookings · ViewUsually owner, manager, cashier

Use New Event, then choose Appointment or Reservation. Each type asks for different details.

Before you start

  • The Bookings · Modify permission.
  • A plan with events (Starter and up).
  • For appointments, at least one bookable service (Lite and up).

Steps

1

Open Events and tap New Event

From the POS menu, open Events, then tap New Event and choose Appointment or Reservation.

Events → New Event
2

For an appointment, pick the service

Choose the Service. If the picker is empty, tap New Event Service to make one, and saving returns you here.

Pick the day, time and staff

Choose a day and a time. The booking opens on the next 15-minute slot, and any time can be picked in 15-minute steps. Pick a staff member, or leave Any available. The app does not hide busy times, so a conflict is checked when you save.

Add the customer

Pick a Saved customer to link the booking to their page, or type a name for a walk-in. Phone and email are optional. A typed phone number uses your store's country code unless you pick another.

What happens next

  • The booking shows on the Events board. Use its detail screen to edit, notify, check in or seat, complete it, or link an order when the customer pays.
  • It does not create an order by itself.

Edge cases

  • The start must be in the future, and inside the service's booking window: its lead time and how many days ahead it allows.
  • A named staff member must be working then (their schedule) and not booked at the same time, and the service's Max concurrent must not be reached. See Booking and Staff Availability.
  • A reservation that names a table is refused while another reservation holds that table at the same time.
  • Book from a customer's page. Open the customer, tap More → Book appointment (or Book on their Upcoming bookings card). The customer is already linked, and you return to their page after saving.
  • Staff booking in the app does not check the service's staff list. Only the online booking page does.
  • The title is built for you from the service and customer, or the party size and guest, so you do not type one.
  • The saved customer picker shows for staff who can view customers or use the register.
