Cross-Store Transfers
Cross-store transfers move inventory between two different stores in the same organization — for example, from a central warehouse to a branch, or between two branches. This is different from a regular stock transfer, which moves stock between locations inside a single store.
What you need
Cross-store transfers require the Organization add-on on your account and
the Inventory add-on active on both the sending and receiving stores.
The two products must also be linked across your
stores so the system knows they're
the same item.
How It Works
A cross-store transfer is a single document that both stores can see:
- The destination store (or a manager) creates the transfer, or requests it.
- The source store ships it — stock leaves the source and its cost is recorded.
- The destination store receives it — stock arrives and its average cost updates.
Stock only moves when a store ships or receives — creating a transfer on its own never changes stock.
Finding Cross-Store Transfers
From any store that belongs to an organization, open Configurations → Inventory. When your store is part of an organization, a Cross-store Transfers card appears alongside the usual inventory options. The list has two tabs:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Outgoing | Transfers your store is sending to another store. |
| Incoming | Transfers another store is sending to your store. |

Creating a Transfer
Use this when you want to send stock to another store.
- Open Cross-store Transfers and tap New.

- Choose the store to send to — only stores in your organization appear.

- Add the products and quantities. Only products that exist in your store can be picked; the matching product at the other store is resolved automatically from your product links.
- Add an optional note and tap Create transfer.

The transfer starts as a Draft. No stock has moved yet.
Product must be linked
If you pick a product that isn't linked across your stores, the transfer is
rejected with a message asking you to link it first. Set up product
links before transferring.
Shipping a Transfer
Shipping is done by the source store (the one sending the stock).
- Open the Draft transfer from the Outgoing tab.
- Tap Ship.
- Stock is deducted from the source store, and each item records the cost it left at. The status becomes Shipped (or Partially Shipped if you shipped less than requested).
Receiving a Transfer
Receiving is done by the destination store (the one getting the stock).
- Open the Shipped transfer from the Incoming tab.
- Tap Receive.
- Stock is added to the destination store, and its average cost is updated using the cost that came from the source. The status becomes Received — the transfer is complete.
Requesting Stock
A store that is running low can request stock instead of waiting for the source to send it.
- Open Cross-store Transfers and tap Request.
- Choose the store you want to request from and add the products and quantities.
- Tap Send request. The transfer appears as Requested.
- The source store opens it and taps Accept request (which turns it into a Draft, ready to ship) or Decline request.

Real-Time Updates
When one store ships, receives, or cancels a transfer, the other store's list updates automatically — no need to refresh. A transfer you accept, ship, or receive is reflected on the other store's screen within moments.
Tips
- Keep the sending store's stock accurate before shipping — you can't ship more than you have on hand at the source location.
- Use a central warehouse store as the hub that supplies your branches. See Central Warehouse.
- To see combined stock across every store at a glance, use the organization Stock Overview.
