Discount Overview
Discounts help you attract customers, reward loyalty, and move inventory. A discount is a price reduction on an order or a line: a percentage (10% off), a fixed amount (P50 off), or a special offer. Fuze works it out and applies it at checkout.
What this covers
- Applied at checkout. Your cashier picks the discount on the register. Discounts never apply themselves. To add something to every order automatically, use a charge instead.
- Whole order or per line. Apply a discount to the order or to individual lines.
- They stack. More than one discount can sit on one order, and percentage discounts compound: each is taken off the running total, not the original price. Two 10% discounts take off 19%, not 20%.
- Never below zero. A discount takes off at most what is left of the line or the order. A discount the cashier types in is capped the same way.
- Clear receipts. Every receipt shows the discount and the savings.
Percentage discounts come off first, then fixed ones. The order keeps its own copy of each discount, so later changes never rewrite past orders.

Status is not something you set. The system works it out from the end date and whether the discount is enabled.
What the register offers
The register lists only discounts that are on and inside their dates, with coupons left out, sorted by name. A discount whose start date is still ahead does not show on the register yet, although it shows as Active in the Discounts list. To keep a promo off until a day, set its start date or leave it disabled and enable it that day.
Store coupons are kept apart from this list and managed only through the API. The app has no coupon screen, and the register never sends a coupon code.
