Organizations Overview

Not available during Early Release

Organization Management and Advanced Inventory are the two add-ons not
unlocked during a free trial — and because add-on purchases are paused for the
whole of Early Release, there is currently no way to switch them on.
Everything in these Organization guides describes how it works once purchasing
opens at general availability. Cross-store inventory features additionally
need Advanced Inventory active on each store involved.

An organization groups your stores as branches of one business. Use it to give your team access to the branches they run, to pay the people who work across branches, and to see your branches side by side.

What this covers

An organization is an account-level home for your stores and your team. When you create an organization, you can:

  • Link your stores to it as branches
  • Invite members, each with a role and a branch access
  • Add the people who work at more than one branch, and pay them in one pay run

An organization doesn't change how a store works day to day. Each branch keeps its own staff, roles, catalog, stock and reports.

Member Roles

Each member has one role and a branch access: all branches, or chosen branches. Six roles come with every organization: Owner, Admin, Payroll, Billing, Area manager and Member. You can also create your own. Owners, Admins and Area managers can open the branches in their access without being added as staff. Payroll, Billing and Member work on organization screens only. See Organization Roles and Branch Access.

The organization page

Open Organizations from the side menu (it sits under Stores). Your organization opens straight away: the one you used last, or the only one you have. To switch to another organization or create one, tap the organization's name at the top of its menu.

An organization has its own side menu: Home, then Branches, People, Pay profiles, Pay runs, Reports, the catalog tools, Members, Invitations, Roles, Invoices and the Activity log. You only see the entries your role allows. Back to store at the bottom takes you to your store's dashboard.

Home shows how the organization is doing. Pick Today, 7 days or Month to see net sales, orders, commission to pay and expenses for that period, and the branches that sold most. Sales, orders and expenses also show the change against the period just before, as a whole percent; a figure that had nothing in the period before reads New. Commission to pay counts the days in your organization's time zone, the same as sales. Needs attention lists pay runs still in draft, how many people in them need days worked or have pay below zero, invitations waiting for an answer and invoices not paid; each line opens the page that settles it. Recent activity shows the latest entries of the activity log. You only see the cards your role allows. Branches, members, invitations and invoices each have their own page in the menu.

How billing works

Linking a store to an organization changes who can manage it, never who pays for it.

  • The Organization Management add-on is paid monthly, once for the owner's whole account, however many branches it groups.
  • Each store keeps its own plan and add-ons, billed to the store's owner as before.
  • The organization has no plan and no monthly fee of its own.

See Organization Invoices.

Store Linking

You can link stores to an organization in two ways:

  • During store creation — pick the organization in the store setup wizard.
  • After creation — from the store's details page, or from the organization's Branches page.

Once linked, the store appears on the organization's Branches page, and members whose role and branch access cover it can open it. You can unlink a store at any time to make it standalone again.

See Linking & Unlinking Stores for a step-by-step guide.

Before You Begin

To create an organization, you need the Organization Management add-on on your account. People you invite don't need it. In the Fuze Store app, Organizations has its own item in the side menu, right under Stores, so you can open it without picking a store first. On the website, go to Account → Organizations.

Works with

Add-on or planWhat changes on this page
Organization Management add-onRequired for the organization to open and for anyone to link, invite or manage. If it lapses the organization pauses; see Paused Organization.
Store plansLinking never changes a store's plan. Each store keeps its own plan and its owner keeps paying for it, so a Basic branch and a Premium branch can sit in the same organization.
Staff Operations add-onNeeded for organization pay runs; the other organization screens do not need it.
Advanced Inventory add-onNeeded in each store that sends or receives a cross-store transfer.
