Service Context by Store Template

Paid plan required. Service Details is available on any paid plan (Starter and up). It is not included on the free Basic plan. View plans

When you create a store with a business-type template, Fuze Store can seed starter Service Details fields for that niche. Seeding is inert config — fields are filled in even on Basic, but capture only works once your plan includes Service Context (Starter and up, or during free trial).

Templates are a head-start. You can add, edit, reorder, or remove fields anytime under Preferences → Service Context.

How seeding works

  1. Pick a niche on the store setup wizard (or create with a template code).
  2. The server writes matching fields into pos.serviceContext preferences.
  3. On a plan that grants Service Context, turn Enable on (if needed) and start capturing at the register.

The GENERAL / blank path and several retail niches seed no Service Context fields.

Niches with no Service Context seed

These templates do not seed Service Details fields (you can still add your own later):

  • GENERAL / set up manually
  • Convenience Store
  • Vape Shop
  • Retail
  • Warehouse
  • Salon / Barbershop (preferred stylist and chair/station are handled via staff assignment and Units, not Service Context)

After create

  1. Open Preferences → Service Context.
  2. Review seeded fields; rename labels to match your shop language.
  3. Add fields your niche missed; remove ones you do not use.
  4. Set Surfaces (POS, receipt, SMS, and so on) per field.

Tips

  • Prefer one searchable identifier field (plate, claim tag, serial) when customers return often.
  • Do not invent niche-specific screens — Service Context is the same form for every store type.
  • Bakery pickup date is not a Service Context field — use the Pick up service mode’s native pickup date when that mode is enabled.
