Which AI Tools Work Where

Every AI vendor handles custom connections differently. Pick the right tool before you start. Last verified 9 August 2026, and vendors change these menus often. If a name differs, look for Plugins, Connectors, Apps or MCP in settings.

Steps

1

Choose a tool

Use the table below. Claude is the only one that follows you to a phone, after you add it on a computer.

Check what the vendor needs

Some vendors need a paid plan for custom connections. That is separate from the Fuze Store add-on, which you need either way.

What happens next

  • Follow the matching connecting guide.

Edge cases

  • At a glance. Claude (claude.ai or Desktop; yes on mobile once added; any plan, free allows 1 custom connector). Claude Code (terminal; no mobile; Pro, Max or an API key). ChatGPT (web only; no mobile; any plan, developer mode on). Mistral Le Chat (web; not confirmed on mobile; any plan, administrator adds). Perplexity (web settings; no mobile; Pro, Max or Enterprise). Cursor, VS Code (any Copilot plan), Windsurf (Devin Desktop) and Zed (desktop, any plan). Codex and ChatGPT Desktop (CLI, desktop app or IDE extension; paid ChatGPT plan or API key with billing). Gemini CLI (terminal; free). Amazon Q Developer CLI (terminal; free or Pro).
  • On your phone. Only Claude. Add it on claude.ai or Claude Desktop first, then sign in to the Claude mobile app.
  • ChatGPT hides this behind developer mode, labelled elevated risk. The warning is about custom connections in general, not Fuze Store. Only add addresses you trust. It is a computer job, and you pick your store with the + button in each chat.
  • Cannot connect yet. The Gemini app (custom connections only in Gemini Enterprise Business, set by an administrator) and Microsoft Copilot (via Copilot Studio or administrator connectors). The Gemini CLI is different and does work.
  • Free AI accounts work for Claude (1 connector), ChatGPT, Mistral, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, Zed, Gemini CLI and Amazon Q. Paid needed for Perplexity, Claude Code and Codex.
  • Other MCP tools that support OAuth connect with just your link. See Connecting Other MCP Tools.
