Connecting ChatGPT
This takes about five minutes. The ChatGPT phone app cannot add a connection like this, so use a computer.
Before you start
- The AI Connections add-on on the store.
- Owner, organization admin, or a role with AI Connections → Connect.
- A computer with ChatGPT in a web browser.
Steps
Copy your store's link
In the Fuze Store app open Configurations → MCP → Connect an assistant and copy the MCP Server URL. It looks like https://api.fuze-store.com/mcp/store/<your-store-id>. It is unique to one store, so there is no store picker on the approval screen.

Turn on developer mode
In ChatGPT on the web click your name at the bottom left, then Settings → Security and login → Developer mode. You can also reach it from Settings → Plugins → Developer mode.

Use it in a chat
Click + in the message box and pick your store. Do this in each chat. Where you have not, ChatGPT sees none of your data.

What happens next
- The assistant appears under Active connections on Configurations → MCP, with its name, who connected it, the permissions granted and when its key expires. Start asking questions about your store.
Edge cases
- Why the address ends
?profile=compact. ChatGPT limits how much it will read about a server's tools. The ending gives it a short list of everyday tools plus a search tool to find the rest by name, so nothing is missing. Other assistants have no such limit. - The warning appears twice, when switching developer mode on and when creating the connection. It is about custom connections in general. Only add addresses you trust, and never one someone sends you.
- Work or school accounts. An administrator may have turned developer mode off.
- No + button on Plugins means developer mode is not on. Cannot see your store means you did not pick it with + in that chat.
- Sign-in problems. The usual causes are not being signed in to Fuze Store in the browser, the AI Connections add-on being off, or pasting the link for a different store. See Setting Up AI Access.
- Your role limits what you can grant. You can only give permissions your own role holds. A role without AI Connections → Connect is refused at sign-in.
- No client ID is needed for tools that register themselves from the link alone.
