Removing Tax When Ordering
Sometimes a sale should be tax-free even though the product normally has tax attached (for example a mandated exemption). Use Remove Tax on the register — this does not change the product’s catalog tax settings.

Steps

Add a taxed item
Open the POS Register and add an item that has tax attached. The register summary shows a nonzero VAT line.

Open Menu → Remove Tax
Tap Menu, then Remove Tax.
Tax is removed for the whole order — a Tax removed banner appears in the summary and the VAT line drops to zero.
Notes
- Removing tax on the register does not update the product’s Tax tab — the next sale of that product still uses the attached rate unless you remove tax again.
- When Tax is locked (Basic or downgrade), new orders already compute without tax; Remove Tax is only relevant while Tax is active and rates are applying.
