Waiting List Overview

When your store gets busy, a waiting list keeps things organized. The Waiting List feature lets you manage a customer queue, track positions and wait times, notify customers by SMS when their turn is up, and show the queue on a customer-facing display.
What is the Waiting List?
The Waiting List is a digital queue for your store. Instead of asking customers to wait without structure, you add them to a list. Each party gets a position in the queue. You serve them in order, call them when ready, and mark them as done.
Your POS handles the queue automatically. You focus on serving customers.
Who Should Use This Feature?
The Waiting List works well for businesses that serve customers one at a time or in groups. Common use cases include:
- Restaurants managing table availability
- Service businesses like salons, barbershops, and spas
- Retail stores with fitting rooms or personal shopping
- Any business where customers need to wait for their turn
Key Features
- Add parties quickly. Enter a name and party size to join the queue. Add a mobile number to enable SMS, and an estimated wait to set expectations.
- Track positions and wait time. See each party's place in line and how long they have been waiting at a glance.
- Call the next party. When a spot opens, call them — and, with the SMS add-on set up, automatically text them that you are ready.
- Handle the unexpected. Skip a party that stepped away, cancel a no-show, or return someone to the queue.
- Show a queue board. Put the waiting list on a customer-facing display so guests can watch their position move up.
How It Works
- A customer arrives and asks to be added to the list.
- You add their name and party size — and optionally a mobile number and estimated wait.
- They get a queue position; the customer display shows their place in line.
- When a spot opens, you Call them. If SMS is set up, they get a text automatically.
- You mark them Done when served, or Cancel if they left.
Benefits
- Reduce crowding. Customers can wait nearby — even step away and return — instead of standing in line.
- Improve the experience. Clear positions, live wait times, and an automatic "you're up" text make waiting less frustrating.
- Stay organized. Never lose track of who is next.
- Save time. Spend less time managing the line and more time serving.
