How to Create a Charge
Follow these steps to add a named order-level charge to your store catalog.

Step-by-Step Guide
1
Open the menu
Click the sidebar menu icon to open navigation.
2
Go to Charges
Go to Configurations. Under Payments & Tax, select Charges.
3
Add a charge
Tap New Charge.

4
Fill in the details
Fill in the charge details. See Field Explanations for more detail.

- Enable — turn on to make the charge active.
- Name — e.g. Service charge, Corkage, Rush fee.
- Rate Type — Fixed, or Percentage of the order total after discounts.
- Rate — the amount or percentage.
- Auto-apply — optionally apply this charge to new orders by default.
- Service Modes — appears only with Auto-apply on. Limits the automatic application to specific modes; leave it empty for all. A charge the cashier picks by hand applies whatever the order's service mode is, so there is nothing to scope.

5
Save
Tap Save. The charge is available on the POS register Charges sheet.

Tips
- Seeded template charges (when present) can be edited here instead of creating duplicates.
- Percentage rates should match the policy you publish to guests (for example 10% service charge).
