Store Setup Templates

When you create a store, the Business type step offers niche templates (Cafe, Restaurant, Salon, Laundry, Retail, and more). Picking a niche is the Express path. Choosing Set up manually uses the blank General template and walks the full Custom wizard.

Templates are optional. They are a head-start, not a gate.

Pick your business type, then your business model

The Business type step asks twice, and the second question is the one that
matters. First pick the industry your shop belongs to — Cafe & milk tea,
Fresh food, Personal services, and so on. That opens a short list of
business models: the specific trade you actually run.

So a cafe owner does not pick "Cafe" and hope. They pick Coffee shop, or
Milk tea shop, or Coffee kiosk, or Bakery cafe — and each one sets
up slightly differently, because a kiosk has no tables and a bakery cafe sells
things off a shelf.

The most common model in each industry is marked, so if you are not sure, the
marked one is a safe answer. You can change any of it afterwards.

How is your business registered?

On the Details step you will be asked how your business is registered.
This decides which tax and discount rows Fuze sets up for you:

Answer	What gets set up
Not registered	Nothing. No tax, no mandated discounts.
Non-VAT	Senior Citizen and PWD discounts, ready to use.
VAT-registered	12% VAT, plus the Senior Citizen and PWD discounts.

Answer honestly — this is not a setting that makes you pay more or less tax, it
just sets up the rows your receipts need. If you are not registered with the
BIR, pick Not registered; you can change it later and add the rows
yourself.

Senior Citizen and PWD discounts are required by Philippine law for
registered businesses. Fuze sets them up so you do not have to build them by
hand — switch one off only if you already run it another way.

You see every row before the store exists

The Review step lists every tax and discount that will be created, each
with an Include switch. Nothing is hidden behind a summary line: if a 12%
VAT row is going to exist, you see it, and you can switch it off before you
press Create.

On the free plan the VAT row still appears, greyed out, with a note saying it
will be set up when you upgrade — so you know what you are getting rather than
finding out later.

Niche cards appear first. Set up manually is rendered last, and it starts out already selected (green border and check badge) when you arrive on the step — tapping any niche card moves the selection to it instead.

What a template seeds

Depending on the niche and your plan / add-ons, creating with a template can:

Merge store preferences (order tabs, default order status, printing, stock alerts, and similar).
Seed tax rows when Tax is available on your plan (for example 12% VAT).
Seed named charges where the archetype defines them (for example an auto-applied service charge for full-service restaurants). Delivery fee is configured separately — it is not a charge.
Create starter staff roles (Manager, Cashier, Kitchen Staff, and so on) when the Roles & Permissions add-on is active or granted during free trial.
Set classifications and service modes that match the business type.

The single owner role and the preferences config row are always created.

What templates do not seed

No starter product / service catalog from the template (demo seeders used in marketing environments are separate).
No full payment-method catalog beyond the platform cash method created for every store.
No paid-module data for add-ons you cannot use yet (for example inventory rows). Those modules stay dark until you unlock them.

Examples by niche (illustrative)

Exact fields evolve with product updates; these match the intended archetype behavior:

Cafe / quick food / retail / grocery — often default new orders toward a complete / pay-now flow and trim POS order tabs to the statuses you actually use.
Full-service restaurant — pay-later friendly defaults; may seed a service charge when charges apply.
Salon / appointment-style — service-oriented classifications and roles such as Receptionist or Service Provider.
Laundry / repair / water station — service modes such as Pick up or Delivery where the workflow needs them.
Car wash — a job-queue flow with a Ready step: finishing a car moves the order to Ready (waiting on the bay), and you complete it when the owner collects and pays.
General / Set up manually — system defaults only; you configure classifications, modes, and preferences yourself.

After create

Owners keep adjusting the same settings under Configurations → Preferences. Template seeds are a starting point — they are not locked forever.
