Store Setup Templates
When you create a store, the Business type step offers templates for your trade. Picking one is the Express path. Choosing Set up manually uses the blank General template and walks the full Custom wizard. Templates are a head-start, not a gate.
Fields
Pick your industry, then your business model
The Business type step asks twice, and the second question is the one that matters. First pick the industry your shop belongs to, such as Cafe and milk tea, Fresh food, or Personal services. That opens a short list of business models: the specific trade you actually run.
A cafe owner does not pick "Cafe" and hope. They pick Coffee shop, Milk tea shop, Coffee kiosk, or Bakery cafe, and each sets up slightly differently, because a kiosk has no tables and a bakery cafe sells off a shelf. The most common model in each industry is marked, so if you are not sure, the marked one is a safe answer. You can change any of it afterwards.

How is your business registered?
On the Store details step you are asked how your business is registered. This decides which tax and discount rows Fuze sets up for you. The choices depend on your store's country. A country Fuze has not set up shows no question and sets up no rows. In the Philippines the choices are:

Grocery, convenience, and drugstore types also get the Solo Parent discount. The line under the choices tells you exactly what your answer will set up. Answer honestly: this does not make you pay more or less tax, it sets up the rows your receipts need. If you are not registered with the BIR, pick Not registered. You can change it later and add the rows yourself.
In the Philippines, Senior Citizen and PWD discounts are required by law for registered businesses. Fuze sets them up so you do not have to build them by hand. Switch one off only if you already run it another way.
You see every row before the store exists
The Review step lists every tax and discount that will be created, each with an Include switch. If a 12% VAT row is going to exist, you see it, and you can switch it off before you press Create. On the free plan the tax rows still appear, greyed out, with a note that they will be set up when you upgrade.
What a template seeds
- Store preferences: order tabs, default order status, printing, stock alerts, and similar.
- Taxes from your answer to "How is your business registered?", when Tax is available on your plan. The business type alone never adds a tax.
- Named charges where the archetype defines them, such as an auto-applied service charge for full-service restaurants. Delivery fee is configured separately and is not a charge.
- Starter staff roles (Manager, Cashier, Kitchen Staff, and so on) when Roles & Permissions is active or granted in the free trial.
- Classifications and service modes that match the business type.
- The single owner role and the preferences row are always created.
What templates do not seed
- No starter product or service catalog.
- No payment-method catalog beyond the Cash method every store gets.
- No data for add-ons you cannot use yet, such as inventory rows. Those modules stay dark until you unlock them.
Examples by business type
These match the intended archetype behavior. Exact fields change with product updates.
- Cafe, quick food, retail, grocery: new orders default toward a complete, pay-now flow, and the POS order tabs trim to the statuses you use.
- Full-service restaurant: pay-later friendly defaults, and a service charge when charges apply.
- Salon and appointment-style: service-oriented classifications and roles such as Receptionist or Service Provider.
- Laundry, repair, water station: service modes such as Pick up or Delivery where the workflow needs them.
- Car wash: a job-queue flow with a Ready step. Finishing a car moves the order to Ready, and you complete it when the owner collects and pays.
- General (Set up manually): system defaults only.
Edge cases
- A business model sent with a template that is not its own is refused, and so is a choice that ends with nothing sold or no way to get it.
- Wizard choices win over the template. The lists you picked in the wizard override the template's lists.
- One-person businesses such as a sari-sari store or a food cart add no starter roles.
- Starter roles are only added when the store is made. Later changes to the roles are yours.
- A country with no tax table shows no registration question and adds no tax or discount rows.
