How to Delete a Modifier

When you no longer need a modifier, you can remove it. To hide one for a while, switch it off instead.

Before you start

The Products · Delete permission.

Steps

Go to Modifiers

Open the sidebar menu and choose Modifiers (under Catalog).

Find the modifier

Locate the modifier you want to remove, for example "Extra Cheese".

Choose Delete

Use the trash icon in the action column, or open the modifier and use Delete on its page. For several at once, tick them and pick Delete from Action. It needs permission to delete products.

Confirm

Confirm when prompted.

What happens next

The modifier is removed from your POS and menus, and unhooked from its items.
The items stay and lose only this choice. Past orders keep the options they were sold with.

Edge cases

There is no undo. To hide a modifier temporarily, tick it and pick Disable from Action. A switched-off modifier is no longer asked for on the register.
Check related products afterwards so nothing is left broken, such as an item that always needed a size.
Deleting from the modifier page returns you to the list.
