# How to Update a Modifier

# How to Update a Modifier

Keep your modifiers up to date so your POS always offers the right choices and add-ons. You can change a modifier's name, options, pricing, or any other detail at any time.

## Step-by-Step Guide

1. **Open the menu.** Click the sidebar hamburger menu to open navigation.
2. **Go to Modifiers.** Select **Modifiers** from the menu list.
3. **Choose a modifier.** Click the modifier you want to edit (for example, "Extra Cheese").
4. **Edit details.** Update any fields as needed. See [Modifier Overview](/docs/store/modifier/overview) for what each field means.
5. **Save.** Click **Save**. Your updates appear instantly in your POS and menus.

## Tips

- Changes show up right away after you save.
- Use clear names and descriptions so staff and customers can easily understand the options.
- Add or remove options as your menu or services change.
- Adjust prices for add-ons to encourage upselling.
- Leave optional fields blank if you are not sure what to enter.
- Make sure each modifier name is unique and descriptive.
- Group similar modifiers together for easier selection.
