# How to Create a New Unit

# How to Create a New Unit

Units represent specific spots in your store -- like tables, rooms, or seats. Creating units lets you assign orders to exact locations and track service across your space.

## Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the **sidebar menu** by clicking the hamburger icon.
2. Select **Store** from the menu.
3. Click **Units** to view your current list of units.
4. Click the **Add Unit** button at the top right.
5. Fill in the unit details:
   - **Name** -- Give the unit a clear name or number (e.g., "Table 1," "Room 2," or "Seat A").
   - **Capacity** -- Set the maximum number of people the unit can hold (e.g., 4).
   - **Area** -- Select the area this unit belongs to (e.g., "Balcony" or "VIP Area").
6. Click **Save**. The new unit appears under the selected area and is ready for orders.

## Tips

- Use simple, clear names so staff can identify each unit quickly.
- An area can hold many units (e.g., several tables in "Al Fresco").
- Start with the units you use daily, then add more as needed.
- You can always edit or delete units later if your layout changes.
