# First-Time Setup

The first time you open Fuze Store Hub, you'll see a **five-slide welcome carousel**. It takes about a minute to complete. You can change anything later from Settings.

Have your Fuze Store **mobile app** open on a tablet or phone beside you. You'll generate one **activation key** there (in **Configurations → Integrations → Fuze Store Hub**) and paste it into the Hub.

Before the slides, Fuze Store Hub asks you to **sign in** with your Fuze Store account and **pick the store** this computer will serve. You must be the store owner, an organization admin, or a staff member with **Hub Admin** permission. Once you've chosen the store, the welcome carousel begins.

## The five slides

Quick overview of what Fuze Store Hub does: **printing, kitchen display, and customer display**. No input needed — just click **Next**.

Paste your **activation key** — a short code you generate in the mobile app under **Configurations → Integrations → Fuze Store Hub**. It's valid for 72 hours and links this computer to the store you selected.

Your store is already chosen from the sign-in step, so there's no Store ID to copy. Once the key is accepted, Fuze Store Hub gets its own secure connection to your store automatically.

Click the **?** next to any label for a plain-English explainer.

In most cases you can leave everything on the defaults — Fuze Store Hub listens on `127.0.0.1:18443` over HTTPS — and just click **Next**.

To let phones and tablets on the same Wi-Fi reach this computer, turn on **LAN sharing**, which widens the listener to your local network address (`0.0.0.0:18443`). Only change the bind address, port, or cloud API URL if your network administrator told you to — tap **Show advanced network settings**.

Toggle any optional modules you want:

- **Kitchen Display (KDS) sync** — keeps a local copy of tickets so the kitchen screen works during internet outages. Only needed if you're using the KDS add-on.

You can skip this slide entirely if you don't need those features.

A checklist shows what to do next: plug in a printer, pair a POS terminal, send a test print. Click **Finish setup** and Fuze Store Hub will start running in the background.

## Where does the setup live?

Everything you enter is saved locally on this computer, inside your user profile:

- **Mac** — `~/Library/Application Support/Fuze Store Hub/`
- **Windows** — `%APPDATA%\Fuze Store Hub\`
- **Linux** — `~/.config/Fuze Store Hub/`

Secrets (your device token and pairing keys) are encrypted with your operating system's secure store.

## Changing settings later

Everything you set up is editable from **Settings** in the sidebar. Changes to network or modules trigger a quick server restart — Fuze Store Hub tells you when that happens.
