# Customer-Facing Display (CFD)

A **Customer-Facing Display** is a second screen that faces your customer at the counter. It shows the live cart, running total, payment status, and a queue of recent orders.

## What you need

- Any screen that can run a web browser — an iPad, cheap Android tablet, an old laptop, a smart TV with a Chromecast, etc.
- The CFD add-on active on your store
- **Fuze Store Hub** running on a shop computer, with your POS tablet paired to it — the display updates travel over your local Wi-Fi through the Hub

## Setting it up

On the CFD screen, open the Fuze Store mobile app and go to **Displays → Customer Display** (or on a browser, go to your store's CFD URL from **Configurations → Display**).

The POS tablet (the one your staff uses) drives the CFD. Open **Fuze Store → Displays → Customer Display** on the POS and tap the pair icon, then scan the QR code from the CFD screen.

Once paired, anything you add to the POS cart shows up on the customer screen instantly — over your local Wi-Fi via Fuze Store Hub.

If the POS tablet has **Use this Hub** turned off, it will stay paired but pause local CFD updates until you turn Hub use back on.

In **Configurations → Display → Customer Display** on the POS, you can choose what shows when no order is active:

- **Queue** — rotating list of recent orders ready for pickup
- **Logo** — your store logo on a full-screen background
- **Auto** — queue during busy hours, logo otherwise

## Does CFD need Fuze Store Hub?

**Yes.** The customer display updates over your local Wi-Fi through Fuze Store Hub — the POS tablet sends each cart and payment update to the Hub, which relays it to the customer screen. If the Hub isn't running and paired (or **Use this Hub** is turned off on the POS), the display won't update.

Running on your local network this way gives you:

- **Instant updates** — cart changes appear on the display with no internet round-trip
- **Works during internet outages** — as long as both devices are on the same Wi-Fi
- **Lower cloud usage** — display updates never leave your shop
