# Bag Tags & Batch Labels

By default, printing labels for an order gives you **one sticker per item** —
right for cups and prep stations. A **bag tag** is the opposite: **one label for
a group of items**, so a three-bag takeaway order gets three tags reading "Bag 1
of 3", "Bag 2 of 3", "Bag 3 of 3".

## Printing a bag tag

  
    From the order, open the print options and pick **Item labels**.
  
  
    Tick the items going into this bag. **Select all** and **Clear** are there
    for speed.
  
  
    Switch on **One label per batch** — _"Print a single tag for the selected
    items — e.g. one per bag."_ The per-item stickers become a single tag.
  
  
    Enter the **bag / batch number** and the total — "1 of 3". The number steps
    up automatically after each print, so for the next bag you just change the
    selection and print again.
  

The counter resets when you close the dialog.

## Partial re-prints

Because you choose the items each time, you can reprint one bag without
reprinting the order. Select just that bag's items, set the same number, print.

## It works on both printer types

| Your printer                   | What prints                                   |
| ------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------- |
| **Die-cut label printer**      | A bag-tag sticker, sized to your label stock  |
| **Ordinary 58/80mm receipt printer** | A bag tag on receipt paper                    |

You do **not** need a dedicated label printer for bag tags. A normal receipt
printer prints a roll-paper version of the same tag.

  Printing to **die-cut label stock** is part of Advanced Printing. Printing a bag
  tag on a **receipt printer** is not — it uses the receipt path every plan has.

## Custom bag-tag designs

If you've designed your own order label under **Configurations → Label
templates**, batch mode uses it — and your template can carry the batch fields,
including the "N of M" sequence. Setting a custom order template as the one-tap
default makes it the one batch mode reaches for. See

Leave the default alone and you get the built-in bag tag.

## What's on the tag

The built-in tag carries the store name, a clear **order number** with a
scannable barcode, the **bag number**, the customer, the items in that bag, and
a QR that opens the order.

  Label output depends on your specific printer and stock size. Print one tag and
  look at it before you rely on it during a rush — especially that the barcode
  scans and nothing is cut off at the edges.
